With experience teaching students from early childhood through higher education, serving as an English Language Arts teacher and department chair, and leading operational growth in the behavioral health field, Sharekia brings both instructional expertise and executive-level strategy to the work of school improvement.
Distinguished Direction was created to provide students, teachers, and parents with clear direction, practical support, and measurable results.

Sharekia F. Wearing is a veteran educator, English Language Arts teacher, department chair, author, and founder of Distinguished Direction, LLC. She began her journey in education in 1998 as a substitute teacher and later became a certified English Language Arts educator in 2005.
With nearly three decades of experience serving students from early childhood through higher education, Sharekia brings classroom-tested knowledge, instructional leadership, and a deep commitment to student achievement. Her work is rooted in practical solutions, measurable growth, and a heart for rural and Title I communities.
Before fully expanding Distinguished Direction into educational consulting, Sharekia also served as Chief Operating Officer of a behavioral health facility, where she led human resources, operations, staffing, and organizational growth. That experience strengthened her ability to build systems, lead teams, and turn vision into structure.
